Sonny Bill Williams, who helped All Blacks winning world title after almost 24-years, is motivated to make a comeback into Rugby Union at the end of this year. The former All Blacks had quit Rugby Union during last year and he is currently playing for Sydney Roosters’ in Australian Rugby League where he will be ending his one year contract in December. The player is reported to join New Zealand’s Super Rugby franchise Chiefs for tenure of three years.

Sonny starred on rugby horizon during his affiliation with the same side in Super Rugby addition 2012 where he helped the side lifting the crown. However, he left Rugby Union to pursue his career in Rugby League to play for a Japanese side. Meanwhile, he has been approached by NRU to rejoin his national side as they will be defending their title in the forthcoming Rugby World Cup 2015, in England.

The Chiefs are confident of getting back his services in the next year’s competitions but it is not clear whether he will be available for his national side or not. Media has learnt that his expected deal with the Chiefs is being hidden by the both parties, which is expected to be disclosed at the end of ongoing Rugby League season.

The 28 years old centre, is however, interested in pursuing his boxing career as well. The versatile player has been seen in the boxing ring twice and remained unbeaten. To add more to his choices, he is also keen to secure a place in New Zealand 7s squad in the upcoming Olympic Games to be played in Rio.

While talking to the media about his possible contract with the Chiefs, the chairman of the franchise told that they were sure to gain the former All Blacks during next year. But the player has not made any deal with them up to now. He further told that, "The word out of the Sonny Bill camp is that he is getting bashed in rugby league, he feels he is getting targeted and can look after his body better in rugby union and prolong his career. The Chiefs are really close to getting the deal done. With the Roosters in the finals, Sonny Bill wants to keep things low-key until their season is over."

Talking about Sonny Bill Williams’ worth to his side, the chairman said that, "Our interest in Sonny is genuine and we are waiting to see how things pan out. We're not rushing him; we are waiting for him to get to a point where he will make a decision. He's very attractive to us. He is an outstanding athlete with an outstanding profile. He will forever be part of the Chiefs and we'd love to have him back."

Sonny Bill Williams has participated in 19 tests for his national side and played a vital role in securing 18 matches. He scored as many as six tries for his team in those matches and impressed the selectors with his excellent feat.
